Microsoft Surface Tablet

With a fresh and progressive design, plus a cover that also doubles as a keyboard, Microsoft pleasantly surprised audiences at an industry expo with the Microsoft Surface tablet. With prices still undetermined, the Surface tablet when released will be available in two options; a Windows RT model and a Windows 8 Pro version. Both Surface tablets feature 10.6-inch, 16:9 widescreen HD displays, dual cameras and microphones for video chat and/or Skype conferencing, but that is about where the similarities end. The RT will give you a choice of 32GB or 64GB of storage along with your Nvidia Tegra CPU, USB 2.0 and microSD slots and a Micro HD video port. While the Windows 8 Surface Pro tablet pumps your storage capacity up to 128GB with a baseline of 64GB and will run on an “Ivy Bridge” i5 chip. Other differences include; Mini DisplayPort video port, USB 3.0 and a microSDXC slot, just to keep things complicated when you decide to purchase one.

Canon has a new Digital SLR for beginning camera bugs to crave, the Canon EOS Rebel T4i. MacBook Pro with Retina Display

The Apple MacBook Pro with Retina Display is the newest update to the Apple notebook lineup. Weighing over a pound less than the previous model, the .71-inch thin notebook showcases Apple’s industrial design. The most significant highlight is the Retina display that gives the 15-inch Apple MacBook Pro a remarkable 2880 x 1800 resolution, higher than any notebook currently available. However, the updated specs do not stop there. Apple refreshed most of the essentials that make the MacBook Pro a must have device. Updated Intel Quad Core i7 Ivy Bridge processor (up to 2.7GHz), up to 16GB RAM and 768GB of SSD storage, rounded out with two Thunderbolt ports, USB 3, an SD card slot and HDMI. The new MagSafe 2 connector looks to ensure your sanity in case of an accidentally tripped cord and the 7 hours of battery life aims to allow you enough time to finish your work and still have plenty of time to play.

Nintendo Wii U

As a follow up to the industry changing Nintendo Wii console that completely redefined console gaming, Mario’s company is releasing the Nintendo Wii U come the 2012 holiday season. Powered by an IBM multi-core processor and AMD HD graphics, the compact, front loading system has a much hyped controller that practically doubles as a separate gaming system. The Wii U Gamepad has a 6.2-inch touchscreen, front facing camera, built-in speakers, gyroscope, accelerometer, NFC support, is a TV remote, digital storefront, can stream movies, supports video chat and lets you surf the web. Besides stuffing everything but the kitchen sink into the controller, rolling out with the Wii U at launch along with a bevy of other titles is Nintendo Land, Pikmin 3 and of course the New Super Mario Bros. U.

Rolled out officially, now you can find in the upper left-hand corner every page of Facebook an App Center link that will give you access to the current crop of applications (600+). Based on personalized recommendations, Facebook is banking that you and your friends share the same ideas on what makes a good app.  To differentiate itself from other app stores out there, the App Center will be a curated store featuring only what Facebook considers high quality apps, so you won’t have to wade through tons of crap before finding the good stuff.

Sony Cyber-shot RX100 Camera

With a sensor that Sony says is four times larger than the competition, the Sony Cyber-shot RX100 changes the standard for pocket-size point-and-shoot cameras. Potentially raising the quality of compromising photos around the world; the RX100 camera sports a 1-inch 20.2 megapixel Exmor CMOS sensor that will reduce the noise in the photo and of people claiming it is not them in the picture. The new Sony Cyber-shot also features a speedy f/1.8 Carl Zeiss lens with 3.6x optical zoom, ISO settings up to 25,600, a BIONZ image processor, 10 fps shooting ability, 3-inch LCD display and full HD 1080 video at 60p in case still photos are not enough.

Sony VAIO T13 Ultrabook

Aiming for two markets at once, Sony has announced their first VAIO Ultrabook, the Sony VAIO T13. Slated for US release the Sony T13 is equipped with a 13.3-inch display, the latest Ultra Low Voltage Intel processor, hybrid storage ability and unlike the ultra-thin laptops from their competitors, the Sony Ultrabook comes with ports galore. HDMI, VGA, Ethernet an SD slot, plus two USB ports, including one that can charge your phone. While all those ports are aiming for business users, Sony is also targeting the campus crowd by taking design cues from the Macbook Air and encasing the new Sony VAIO T13 Ultrabook in a .71 inch thin magnesium and aluminum chassis. The new Sony laptop has battery life up to 9 hours and comes in at $799.

LG Premium HD IPS TV Monitors

LG has rolled out full HD IPS televisions that double as PC monitors. The LG DM2752 and the LG M2752 both are capable of full HD resolution from broadcast and your PC. Picture-in-Picture, Infinite Surround Sound, a USB connector and dual HDMI ports round out the basic specs, while the IPS panels provide nearly 180 degrees of viewing range. In addition the LG DM2752 includes a native 2D to 3D conversion engine that allows you to play games, watch broadcasts or movies in 3D. For gamers it gets even better with the LG Dual Play feature that enables two different full screen images simultaneously on the same TV. Select markets in the EU have access to the M2752 now, while the 3D enhanced LG DM2752 drops in July.
