Bill Maher is known for cancelled latenight talk shows, Supahead and most recently wishing the VP was dead. BlackBerryCool is back online and is reporting that Cingular, for some reason will carry the Blackberry Pearl in red. What’s the common thread? They’re all utterly ridonkulous.
As expected the BlackBerry 8800 hit the Cingular website today, priced at $500 with no terms or $300 for 2-year commitment.
Specs haven’t changed since the last post, but just in case you’re new here and weren’t lucky enough to catch it, we’ve listed a few highlights again..
Edit: This has been declared as not true and not happening.
Talk about big moves. This is bound to ruffle the feathers of pretty much every carrier. Not only does Cingular have the iPhone exclusive, rumor has it that the “largest wireless carrier in the US” will provide FREE service to users who jump ship from their current carriers and join the iPhone lovefest.
TV and video are the hot spots for mobility right now and Cingular ATT is looking to offer services catering to what is already commonplace abroad, in the good ol US of A. A demonstration of the one-way video calling technology is scheduled to take place during CES 2007. Cingular expects to launch the service sometime later in 2007.
The service allows users to send a live video stream to a recipient during a standard voice call. Beginning with a normal phone call, customers can hit one button to add a live video stream, allowing the called party to see what the caller is seeing while they’re talking. The service also allows customers to switch the direction of the video stream during the same phone call.
I wouldn’t call them spyshots, but somebody has been snapping up quite a few sneaky pics. Is this the 8800c or the 8900c? Well I’m not quite sure, though it seems to have been clarified that if this indeed the 8800, the first version of this upcoming BlackBerry device will have no camera and that later sometime near or in April, a version for you photobugs will be released.
