The lot of you who have been waiting for the BlackBerry 8830 should be very happy, as Verizon has recently unloaded the global phone for a mere $199 (after agreements and rebates). Sprint users still have to wait until July to get their hands on the device, which boasts 2GB microSD card slot, media player, Bluetooth, Voice Activated Dialing (VAD) and trackball navigation.
We previously reported the Samsung Stripe that is heading to T-mobile. Samsung no doubt serves Verizon Wireless with an all together different affair. Something akin to comparing a bagged two for $4.00 mixed green salad from the local supermarket to something more palatable, like a salad with carrots, snap peas, purselane, shaved zucchini and “Asian aromatics”.
You will most definitely recall the Samsung U740 we recently posted about and its’ dual flip glory. Impressive to say the least. This inspiring little QWERTY has been taking its TrimSpa along with the Samsung Ultra’s and might be the first glimpse of good things to come from Samsung for 2007.
The web is spinning it’s wheels early today, thanks to nameless wonders working on the inside risking life, liberty and more than likely a good paying job to leak precious mobile info. Today we’re getting word that Verizon Wireless has more tricks up its sleeve besides a Strawberry Chocolate and a Fire KRZR for Valentine’s Day.
CES 2007 brought many devices, some getting yawns and others turning heads. The LG VX9400 however, turns its own head, so you don’t have to. Sporting a swivel screen that allows for wider viewing angles when watching televison. With an extendable 80′s type antenna, the LG VX9400 is the first phone of its type in the US.
TVphones are the new cameraphones and Verizon Wireless is looking to take advantage of newly developed networks and more capable phones being offered by manufacturers with MediaFLO.
The mobile TV service from Verizon Wireless is scheduled to be announced officially when CES 2007 kicks off next week. Verizon currently provides video clips on-demand with V CAST but MediaFLO will offer live mobile TV through Qualcomm technology ranging from 24 to 30 frames per second.
With its’ candybar shape, GPS, EV-DO, QWERTY keypad, auto-focus 2 megapixel camera, video and music player, Bluetooth (1.2), push email, 262k color 160×128 display and microSD expansion slot, the LG enV (VX9900) recently received the work over by Michael Oryl.
A few hits and misses, the LG enV could have definitely used some of the artistic design that we’ve been seeing in other handsets, like the Chocolate and the Shine. Other gripes include poor contact management as it has limited search funtions and near deplorable MP3 support.
A quick visit to Verizon Wireless “official” Motorola Q website revealed that the popular handset is now available in Black. The Verizon website says that this color is available only online, so if you want the new color and can’t wait for it to hit the stores, we suggest you get to clicking now.
From all the info we can gather from other sites and Qusers, changes from the previous silver model of the Motorola Q include a software update (2nd Edition) and the rubberized black skin. Pricing for the new black Motorola Q is $149.99 after $50 and $100 rebates. Price is said to include a carrying case.

After recent image leaks, the word is finally official. The Chocolate Flip is here and from the looks of it, just like the previous Chocolate, the LG VX8600 Chocolate clamshell is heading to Verizon. The LG VX8600 Chocolate Flip specs are close to those of the LG VX8500 Chocolate with the only major difference noted so far being a lower resolution on the display.
