Now I won’t go into whether or not the latest RIM handset is ready for iPhone comparison, but I will suggest that RIM has finally come to the beneficial conclusion that consumer orientated handsets with business capabilities are a definite win / win. That being said let’s get to the the specs on the 8300 a.k.a. the BlackBerry Curve.
It was only a year ago when specs such as a 1.3 megapixel camera, GPS, 802.11b/g, Bluetooth, QWERTY keyboard and Windows Mobile 5.0 would have had us crying for joy like Paula on American Idol.
There’s a new slider that we’ve been gawking over like hormone raging adolescents for Megan Fox, the Toshiba 911T. Equipped with a 3-inch, 260k color display, 3.2 megapixel camera, 1GB of internal memory and 3G connectivity, the Toshiba 911T is a welcome addition to the SoftBank Mobile lineup.
You know that sexy black slider from Samsung? The one with 7.2Mbps HSDPA, EDGE, 2.78-inch touchscreen, microSD memory slot, 5 megapixel cam and Bluetooth. You know, the Samsung SGH F700 UltraSmart.
Well, it’s been snatched out of its 3GSM glass and fondled something tremendous. The team from PhoneArena had the honors of smudging their grubby hands over what is looking to be Samsung’s most anticipated handset thus far in 2007.
Despite Jim bowing out gracefully amidst the foul stench of internal investigations at RIM, the company is doing okay with rumors of a new BlackBerry circulating. Word is the next model is dubbed the BlackBerry 8300 and it is currently being used by RIM employees in the UK. A picture is worth a 1000 words so I’ll shut up and let you watch the video.
T-Mobile and Samsung rolled out another yet another mild-mannered handset. Available in Red and Chocolate, the Samsung T219 has a 64k TFT LCD interior display features T-Mobile MyFaves and easily handles SMS, MMS texting and instant messaging.
If you’re grabbing this handset for one of your rugrats be sure to pony up the $19 for the T-Mobile KidConnect just to be on the safe side before the bill hits. The T-Mobile Samsung T219 is available for $20 after $100 instant discount.
As expected the BlackBerry 8800 hit the Cingular website today, priced at $500 with no terms or $300 for 2-year commitment.
Specs haven’t changed since the last post, but just in case you’re new here and weren’t lucky enough to catch it, we’ve listed a few highlights again..
