The NTT DoCoMo N702iS and the SH702iS

The NTT DoCoMo N702iS and the SH702iS

Of the phones released today by NTT DoCoMo these two are the last we’ll be covering. The NTT DoCoMo N702iS and the SH702iS. The two phones are pretty much polar opposites of the six 3G 7 Series phones released today, with the SH702iS having almost all of the features and the N702iS only having i-channel, Deco-mail and (the lengthy titled) Compatibility with communication congestion control. Of the two phones only the SH702iS pictured on the right has a miniSD memory card slot but both of the devices have 1.3 megapixel cameras.

The NTT DoCoMo M702iS and the M702iG

The NTT DoCoMo M702iS and the M702iG

The two middle of the road devices form the six announced earlier today by NTT DoCoMo are the M702iS (pictured left) and the M702iG. Both of these handsets skip full browsing functions, push talk and plenty of the other features found on the D702iF and the P702iD. The M702iG however boasts a feature that none of the other handsets have, GSM / GPRS roaming. Both of the phones have optional microSD card slots, music players and cameras. The M702iG is better in the camera department coming in with the much appreciated 2 megapixels while the M702iS stays with the tried and true 1.3.

The Ntt DoCoMo D702iF and the P702iD

Consider this a continuation of the previous NTT DoCoMo post. The NTT DoCoMo D702iF and the P702iD share many of the same features aside from the full browsing capabilites, push talk and music player, which is limited to the P702iD, pictured on the left. Here’s a rundown of what the two devices share.

The P702iD and the D702iF are close in size, display and weight but the NTT DoCoMo P702iD has a significant more amount of talktime, standby and video call time. The P702iD also has an optional miniSD card slot as well as a 1.3 megapixel camera.

NTT DoCoMo Offers Six New FOMA 7 Series

Well it is not Independence Day everywhere and today NTT DoCoMo, subsidiaries included unveiled new 3G FOMA handsets in the “7 Series” The new lineup emphasizes style and design with 3 of the models even being crafted by outside designers. Momoko Ikuta designed the D702iF, the P702iD by Taku Satoh and the N702iS by Oki Sato.

Video phone and Deco-mail come standard on all six models, but if you are a music fan you only have a choice between four of the models because the D702iF and the N702iS don’t play tunes. Interestingly enough the two models with most of the features don’t have 3G roaming capabilities. The SH702is and the P702iD share most of the same features except the P702iD doesn’t have a full browser. Expect photos later.

NTT DoCoMo Data Storage Service has Nokia Intellisync backbone

NTT DoCoMo phones have data storage solution thanks to Nokia

Nokia’s Intellisync SyncML Server is being used by NTT DoCoMo. The company is using the Nokia server solution to power a new data storage solution being provided for NTT DoCoMo 902is Series phones. In fact every 3G phone going forward will take advantage of the new service, which allows customers over-the-air backup, restoration and editing of their personal address books, emails and pictures.

The data storage service has been put in place to provide customers a means of protecting their personal content and phone contact information in case of their mobile phones being lost, stolen or broken. The data storage service is the result of a collaborative effort between Nokia, NTT DATA, NTT DoCoMo and NEC. The optional service is priced at 100 Yen per month.

NTT DoCoMo to Release Corporate Phone without a Camera

textually

In an effort to avoid the problems that seem to riddle Samsung. NTT DoCoMo is looking to release a mobile phone geared towards coorporate employees to avoid data theft. no word on the specs, but we are thinking it is going to be as bare bones as you can get, probably with no data transfer functions at all. I guess they didn’t get the memo that some employees just take the paperwork using caveman technology, often called snatch and grab.

NTT DoCoMo Phone Tests Breath for Alcohol over Networks

textually

Don’t call drunk. It appears NTT DoCoMo has developed a system to check breath from remote locations to determinie if drivers have been drinking alcohol. The idea is supposed to help companies with drivers (bus, taxi, and truck companies). I can’t see why this wouldn’t not be used by law enforcement though. The drivers breath is tested through a sensor attached to a NTT DoCoMO FOMA 3G handset and sent over network to the appropriate manager. Of course cheater will be thwarted because the test is conducted during a video-call.
