Nokia E62 on Cingular

Nokia E62 on Cingular

Announced today as a Cingular “exclusive”, the Nokia E62 is the US version of the Nokia E61. Before the question is raised or the title given, by no means will we even consider this device a “killer” of any sort.

It may be the start of a new “tier” for smartphones, being somewhat barebones even though it is priced higher ($149.99) than the Motorola Q was when it went on sale, but “killer” it is not. More►

Nokia 8800 Sirocco Edition is Official

Nokia 8800 Sirocco Edition with matching headset

Well just about a month ago, BigBerries posted photos of the Nokia 8800 Sirocco Edition. Not much has changed since our 1st post. The price still sits close to 1100 EURO, even though Nokia is stating 1000 EURO. Just remember that suggested price is before taxes and subsidies.

Brian Eno gets big praise for providing the “soundtrack” for the phone, which I’m sure ambient music lovers will enjoy, the rest of the free world will probably want to swap that for Fergie’s “London bridge” or Beyonce’s “Ring the Alarm”.

Nokia Multimedia Computers and My Perspective

When Nokia held the Open Studio in Berlin back in April (1,2), I must admit I didn’t really know what to think of the verbage Nokia was so intent on throwing around. The term “multimedia computer” was unloaded over and over again. Here we are in July and today the Nokia N73 and the N93 multimedia computers have been released. While the NSeries devices are wonderful, I think the term “multimedia computer” is going to be confusing for buyers, especially with UMPC’s being released and the basic fact that when people think Nokia, they think phones. Using phrases like “multimedia computer” is not going to change that. More►
