Nokia, IBM, Verisign and Visa have come together to launch a worldwide payment system which can be administered via mobile phones. The new system announced during CES 2007 is going to start llightly and expand purchasing power in stages.
Initially users will be able to pay for groceries and other good and services by swiping their phones over a reader, which will complete the transaction. After swiping for payment, you simply press a button on your phone to confirm the transaction. More►
Nokia, apparently running the RAZR scheme on the N93 has announced the Nokia N93i. Differences from previous models of the phone include a thinning of the chassis, by a slim 3.2 millimeters, slight modifications to the keypad, sexier front mirror finish.
If you’re a current nokia N93 owner, Chris Ziegler suggests waiting for something significantly better than what you’re holding. We agree, unless of course you just have the cash to spare.

Nokia brings multimedia computing to a sleek folder design with the Nokia N76. The new NSeries N76 still allows users the ability to surf the web, take photos and play both music and videos, same as the rest of the NSeries lineup, but in a more favorable, thinner handset.
Quick specs for the N76 include the 2.4-inch 16 million color screen, a 2 megapixel camera, 20MB of internal memory expandable up to a more than decent 2GB and the 3rd generation of the Symbian Operating System.

Once again, another tech group that is unknown to most people is preparing to halt the use of good technoology by way of legal action. This time the culprit is the Washington Research Foundation and the technology being put at risk is Bluetooth.
The Washington Research Foundation as these things usually go, is seeking damages from Nokia, Samsung and Panasonic for using radio frequency technology without paying royalties. The group is citing a patent awared in 1999 to Edwin Suominen as the basis for the lawsuit. More►

Well Vertu, the wholly owned subsidiary of Nokia (according to wikipedia) is taking orders for the only 8 existing Signature Cobra handsets in the world. A total glam device, designed by Boucheron, the Cobra handset includes one pear-cut diamond, if that is not a enough there is another round white diamond, two emerald eyes (for the cobra of course) and a whopping 439 rubies. A version without rubies for the less fortunate will also be available for $115,000.
Mobile phones with cameras, despite recent improvements still catch a little flack for limited features and capabilities. That may no longer be an issue if Brando has anything to do with it. Nokia, who earlier this year caused quite a stir with some of the unique concepts it presented in mobile technology has another concept phone which seems to be raising many eyebrows.
