Speak to Your Email and Voice Command Your Downloads on Mobile Phones

Nuance Communications to offer Voice Command for mobile phones

Another company on the horizon to offer speech-recognizing services for mobile phones. A while back Bigberries reported regarding Promptu which will offer voice based search.

This time around Mobilemag picked up an article from Yahoo!, regarding Nuance Communications Inc., the company behind Dragon Naturally Speaking.

Nuance is said to be beta testing with about 10 carriers for speech recognizing services, much similar to Promptu, Nuance is offering a solution that is built around servers at a company facility instead of being limited to phone memory.

I think it’s great but with all the revenue coming in from text messaging, this may take a while before it’s adopted, at least adopted without fees.

Phone Phlash – Mobile Phone Flash Attachment

phonephlash

The Washington Post recently gripped about cameras on phones, stating it was pretty much useless and a gimmick. I was reading the article and was going to rub salt on an obvious wound but didn’t.

I am pretty much of the thought, unless you’re just an old fogey stuck in the ways of the 20th Century, or a camera buff, mobile phones and cameras are permanently mated / evolved into a new device.

Anyway, there’s a newmobile phone attachment that is going to go well with the Washington Post advocates, Phlash. The little doohickey resembles a button and can be mounted onto your phone.

Everyone’s posting (Newlaunches, Gizmodo, even enGadgetMobile ) about it, but I want to see it in action, send me a flick, a link or something, it better be as simple as everyone is praising. If it were my company I’d sell / license the technology as opposed to making the little button thing though.

I mean how long do the people at Phlash think we’re going to have piss poor camera flashes, the way Samsung slapped the industry over the head last week with megapixels and with the new model cameraphones coming down the pipe, this thing must work wonders.

In the time until perfect flashes arrives though, this is the solution.

Personally, an odd habit of mine is not to remove the plastic from my LCD screen on my phone and it’s usually very promptly placed in a case after purchase so whatever the Phlash does it can’t interfere with my case and hip-mount, aside from that I wouldn’t dare stick something on my phone with an adhesive.

I guess that’s why Phlash made the strap, they were thinking about me.

By the way it can be yours for only $29.99. $19.99
