The makers of the Garmin nuvi and Garmin StreetPilot GPS devices are entering the mobile phone market. The new Garmin cell phone, labeled the Garmin Nuvifone expects release during Q3 2008.
Garmin has not revealed specifics, but the Navifone will be a 3.5G mobile phone with touchscreen, a camera that geo-tags pictures, GPS, web browser and multimedia functionality. There has been no word on expansion capabilities, but expect more during 3GSM next month.
