Touch screens phones, PMP’s (portable media players) and now MID’s (mobile internet device) seem to be the rage. At least after scanning full a day of posts around the web centered on CES.
The Sony Mylo 2 rolled out, displaying a 3.5-inch touch screen and sadly a 1.3 megapixel camera. 1GB of built-in memory helps, but without a significant reason (PS1, PS2 games, excellent web capabilities) to buy, we hope this goes the way of BetaMax.

Intel mesmerized the crowd with a backlit plastic mockup of what would be killer device, if it were real. TechEBlog has the video, which looks promising, but with no functional test device, you still feel underserved.
Thankfully, full screen devices are getting traction when it comes to new releases. Now if companies can deliver within projected release dates is something very different.
Other highlights include 1.5-inch and 1-inch thick LCD plasma displays from Hitachi and Panasonic. I suggest you don’t lose any sleep waiting for Panasonic to release a model you can buy anytime soon. Hitachi expects to begin shipping later this year.
