PowerSet

Inspector Arrington’s Techcrunch40 is rolling along and the first Session is Search and Discovery. So far I like the ideas behind PowerSet.

PowerSet seems like something you could benefit from. It’s a natural language search engine that doesn’t just look for keywords but is said to focus on your true intent.

That means if you search for “actresses who appeared in Playboy” you’ll get the results you’re looking for, not just pages that rank well for that phrase.

Obvious challenges for PowerSet include market penetration, technology adoption (theft) by other companies and changing user behavior to adopt to the new technology/method of search.
