The UK Vodafone Palm Treo 500v is offical. In the US, many are not impressed. With all the kick-ass phones overseas, I can’t imagine people being impressed there either.
Despite the Palm Treo 500v features there seems to be a disconnect with the public. Expectations are high for Palm to redeem itself from previous shortcomings. The Palm Treo 500v still misses the mark.
We’re all hoping Palm will create a stylish, yet professional, media handset along the lines of the iPhone, the Samsung F700 or what we’ve seen recently from Nokia. Sadly, history shows us, this is not the Palm way.
Like RIM, Palm has focused on creating devices for “professionals”. Like RIM, Palm must realize that in order to survive this generation of mobility, media is a must. Along with ease of use, simplicity and style.
