The iRiver X20

Sporting a 2.2-inch QVGA screen and support for Microsoft’s latest DRM, iRiver has announced the X20 personal mediaplayer. iRiver apparently was saving this to upstage competition because we don’t recall an 8GB model of the iRivier X20 being announced during CES.

Record audio, listen to music through the FM tuner (I can’t believe people still listen to the radio) or the media player which supports OGG, MP3 and WMA. If music is not your thing you can use the iRiver X20 to watch MPEG 4 SP or WMV video.

Speaking of video, battery life for vids is about 6 hours, while music playback comes in up to 22 hours. iRiver expects the X20 to hit Japan during March with prices ranging from $160 for the 2GB model up to about $260 for the recently announced 8GB version.
