We knew the Nokia N77 would be announced during 3GSM in Barcelona. we just didn’t know exactly when. Many manufacturers let out a flurry of devices, at just the start of the annual week long event. The Nokia N77 was on the minds of many mobile enthusiasts and the company didn’t fail to deliver.
The major feature being touted for the N77 is the use of DVB-H technology, which allows for broadcasting of television on mobile handsets. The Nokia N77 makes good use of the technology with a 2.4-inch display, that boasts 16million colors.
The Nokia N77 also has a dedicated TV button, it remembers the last viewed station and can even be set to remind you when your favorite show is coming on. Quick specs include a 2 megapixel camera, Visual Radio, 2GB of memory (memory card), support for MP3, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+, WMA and S60 3rd Edition on Symbian OS.
While still cheaper than other NSeries phones the Nokia N77 comes in at a higher price than expected. Initially, Reuters was reporting a price in the range of 200-300 euros. Upon announcement of the handset, Nokia has suggested a price of 370 euros, which brings the N77 to about $480 US. The Nokia N77 is expected to start shipping sometime during Q2 2007.
