Currently possessing the codename of Crossbow, the Microsoft OS for mobile phones was recently previewed by Mobile-Review. Crossbow, to be known in the future to the masses as Windows Mobile 6.0, was also handled by David Ciccone, who unfortunately, wasn’t very impressed with the upcoming Microsoft release. TVphones are the new cameraphones and Verizon Wireless is looking to take advantage of newly developed networks and more capable phones being offered by manufacturers with MediaFLO.

The mobile TV service from Verizon Wireless is scheduled to be announced officially when CES 2007 kicks off next week. Verizon currently provides video clips on-demand with V CAST but MediaFLO will offer live mobile TV through Qualcomm technology ranging from 24 to 30 frames per second.

Here is a CES 2007 tidbit. Samsung who last year kept pumping out the unbelieveable, is looking to start 2007 off in the same fashion. This time around the focus is not on handsets, but the technology behind them. In particular, mobile TV. According to PCMag, Samsung is set to unveil “Advanced Vestigial Sideband” (AVS) during CES 2007, demos included. More►

Well after the HTC roadmap for 2007 leaked the other day you can only expect so much more from HTC regarding a few of their upcoming handsets. The HTC Star Trek was a winning handset for some and accordingly HTC is loooking to continue its winning ways with an update of the previous model.

Janky, computer-generated, watermarked roadmap picture permitting, we’ll go with Mr. Chen on this one and give the upcoming HTC Star Trek a nod of approval. Speculation includes 2 megapixel camera, music playback, Wi-Fi and GPS. You can of course read the roadmap for yourself.

I wouldn’t call them spyshots, but somebody has been snapping up quite a few sneaky pics. Is this the 8800c or the 8900c? Well I’m not quite sure, though it seems to have been clarified that if this indeed the 8800, the first version of this upcoming BlackBerry device will have no camera and that later sometime near or in April, a version for you photobugs will be released. Sprint and Motorola have slated the Motorola Q for release on Sprint’s network sometime this month. Online buyers should be able to click-to-buy a Sprint branded Motorola Q in about two-weeks, while retail channels suffer for an additional month, before being able to sling the much anticipated device your way.
