The LG KE850 also known as the LG Prada is a sleek new generation handset much like the upcoming Apple iPhone. Infact, the two handsets appear to share so many features that speculation is leading some people to believe that Apple has essentially “borrowed” the iPhone interface from the LG handset or quite possibly a lesser known open-source Linux concept mobile.
The LG KE850 would have made an awesome edition to the Chocolate Series (LG KG800, LG KE800, VX8600) and become a runaway international hit, but for some reason LG decided to partner with Prada.
The LG Shine is the prime candidate to be this years crossover choice and commercial success. While the Prada phone, which I believe is still being considered a LG Black Label phone, goes ultra elite (high price).
All of that to the side, the LG KE850 won an iF Product Design Award for 2007 and sports a 3-inch, 400×240 “capacitive” touchscreen display, media player for audio and video, 2 megapixel camera (Schneider-Kreuznach lens), MicroSD memory card slot, Bluetooth 2.0, USB 2.0, Prada Branded UI and a designer leather case.
LG is expecting prices for the LG KE850 to start at 600 EUROs ($800 USD) beginning late February in the UK, France, Germany and Italy. Asian markets (Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore) can expect the LG Prada phone towards then end of March and Korea gets a time slot in Q2 2007.
