SamsungHere is a CES 2007 tidbit. Samsung who last year kept pumping out the unbelieveable, is looking to start 2007 off in the same fashion. This time around the focus is not on handsets, but the technology behind them. In particular, mobile TV. According to PCMag, Samsung is set to unveil “Advanced Vestigial Sideband” (AVS) during CES 2007, demos included.

Samsung hopes the new technology will become a standard sometime during the first half of this year, despite not having any commercial products available based on AVS. The company will have to battle existing technologies like DVB, DMB and MediaFLO, but Samsung focus Advanced Vestigial Sideband on automotive industry, televsions and handheld media players, at least initially.
