LG has been busy as of late. First, the company assaults the mobile phone world with the LG Chocolate and from the looks of it, plans to follow suit with the LG Shine. Outside of the phone world the company still is staking claim in new territory, this time mobile computing. With all the hoopla surrounding UMPC’s quieting down, companies like LG return to sinking their teeth into proven markets.
The new series of laptops from LG roll with Core 2 Duo in the center and build out according to your budget. The flagship of the series is the Z1-P2007, which is almost bursting at the seams weighing just over 4 pounds (1.89kg). For such a small laptop it does seem a bit heavy, but that seems to be happening across the board for some reason with many portable boxes rolling out over 5 pounds.
Quicks specs on the Z1 P2007 include 1.83GHz Core 2 Duo processor (the T5600), 1GB of DDR2 RAM, 100GB hard drive and the 256MB ATI Mobility Radeon X1350 graphics card. More details include a 5-in-1 memory card slot and the just under $2,000 USD price tag. Recently released in Korean markets the LG Z1 P2007 is expected to appear in other markets later in the year.
