The HTC Vox

We’ve been sniffing our traps and getting whiffs of this device for quite a while. Initially the Vox was thought to be a rumor, but like many mobile rumors, it’s true. What you see here, is a near final rendition of the HTC Vox, otherwise known as the HTC S710. The photo is said to come direct from HTC despite the poorly positioned OS screenshot.

The main question we are spotting online is : “Where is the D-pad?” It seems HTC went for other navigation options with the S710. No matter, the phone looks like it has some potential, despite the lack of a D-pad. Now the details.

The HTC Vox has a spring loaded QWERTY keyboard, 2.4-inch TFT display, Wireless LAN 802.11 b/g, Wireless WAN, 2 megapixel camera, MiniUSB, MicroSD expansion and Bluetooth. The HTC Vox Quad-band EDGE device is a Windows Mobile 5 Smartphone so you should get all the productivity stuff too, even though the word is that the HTC Vox (S710) is going to be positioned as a “messenger”. No word on price and release date.
