Well we stumbled across this, like a gazillion hours ago but had a major screwup and forgot about it. But since it seemed to a few of you that we crapped over the Pink Sony Playstation 2 we figured to give you Sony fans something to cheer for. It’s a nice little video showing the basics of menu navigation for the upcoming Sony PS3. Word on the street is you’ll be able to customize your PS3 desktop, so don’t fret at the sea of blue. We think the on-screen icons could be a bit larger, but we’ll keep quiet and let you judge for yourselves. Not content on being in a distant second place to Apple, California based SanDisk is looking to narrow the gap in the music player arena. Today the company offically announced an 8GB version of its Sansa player. SanDisk is suggesting a retail price just shy of $250 and with the introduction of the new 8GB version, other less-formidable Sansa models like the 2, 4 and 6GB versions will receive price reductions by as much as 30 percent.

Pink is everywhere. Thanks a great deal to mobile glam devices like the Motorola RAZR and the Apple iPod. Now it seems game consoles are the next to get the color treatment. Nintendo in comparision to other console makers has offered color variations for its portable gaming systems for quite a while. Sony despite the recent PSP ad fiasco, for the most part has stayed with the tried and true. Could console colorways be the next big thing? Who knows.

The console is said to be limited edition so if you want one be sure to mark your calendars. The release date for the Pink Sony Playstation 2 is set for a November 8th. Until then the Leipzig Games Convention will be the place to catch the PPS2.

Espoo, Finland – Leading Nordic operator Telenor has awarded Nokia a global frame agreement for cellular transmission solutions and services. The Nokia solution helps keep operating expenditure in check, can be integrated into GSM and WCDMA 3G networks, and also meshes well with fixed network operations.

Under the agreement, Nokia will supply Telenor with Nokia Hopper microwave radios to be used for transmission from both base stations and fixed applications when new sites are deployed, or an increase in capacity is needed. The agreement covers all regions where Telenor and its affiliated companies have operations.

“This two-year frame agreement extends our relationship with Telenor,” says Finn Erik Hermansen, General Manager, Networks, Nokia. “We are confident that Nokia’s transmission solutions for fixed and mobile broadband networks will help Telenor maintain a high-capacity network cost-efficiently.”

Nokia Hopper microwave radios come in a wide product range, with over 200,000 such radios in use today all over the world.

Ericsson (NASDAQ:ERICY) today signed a contract with MiTV Corporation Sdn Bhd (MiTV) to build, manage and maintain its WCDMA/HSPA network across Malaysia. The deal further strengthens Ericsson’s leadership in High-Speed Packet Access (HSPA) and managed services.

Under the agreement, Ericsson will provide MiTV with a complete WCDMA core and radio network, including HSPA, microwave transmission, multimedia solutions and related services. The agreement also includes a managed services contract that will see Ericsson manage and maintain MiTV’s network.

Dato’ Ir Rosman Ridzwan, MiTV chairman, says MiTV’s aim is to enhance digital opportunities in Malaysia and be the preferred 3G service provider for users who want superior quality, and exciting, multimedia-enriched mobile communication services. “Given our big ambitions, we need a strong and reliable partner with a proven track record to ensure our success. We believe that Ericsson is best suited for this job,” he says.

Jan Signell, country manager of Ericsson Malaysia and president of Ericsson South East Asia, says: “We believe this cooperation will create new multimedia opportunities in Malaysia. With the launch of an HSPA-enabled network, MiTV is well positioned to capitalize on the convergence of internet, broadcasting and telecom services that is already happening.”

The WCDMA/HSPA contract with MiTV underlines Ericsson’s position as the world’s leading supplier of mobile systems.

Ericsson has officially announced more than 100 managed services contracts with operators worldwide. In all current managed services contracts, excluding hosting, Ericsson is managing networks that together serve more than 65 million subscribers worldwide.

Chances are that the HTC Hermes, will be the upcoming Cingular 8525. The leaked photos you see are said to be shots of the much speculated Cingular variation. If you are up to speed on your HTC devices, you’ll immediately notice the lack of the front-facing camera found on the Hermes, that’s due to the slow development of Cingular’s video calling infrastructure.
