The Novatel S720 mobile Broadband Card is the first card of its type available in the US. The Type II PC card works on the existing Sprint Power Vision Network, and will allow users to maintain the card as Sprint upgrades its network to Rev. A. The new Merlin S720 will provide users DSL-like speeds for access to media files and applications.
Sprint says average transfer speed both uploads and downloads will become much faster when the network upgrades are completed. The roll out of EV-DO Revision A will start during the Q4 of 2006 and is expected to provide coverage for more than 40 million people by the years end. The card should be $99 with two-year agreement. Sprint’s current Merlin card, the S620 is $49 for business customers.
