Motorola showcased a few mobility solutions this week during SCTE 2006. One of them being Follow Me TV, which reminded me a bit of Sling Media and the Slingbox. The primary difference being that Motorola’s Follow Me TV is apparently focused solely on stored content. Actually despite the name it can be music and photos as well. Motorola says it will allow you to move recordings from a Motorola DVR to your next-generation MOTORAZR and even schedule recordings through your device. I wonder when Motorola says with your next-generation MOTORAZR if they mean the Canary?
Other services Motorola demonstrated included Cable MESH – based on Motorola MESH which will enable cable operators to use existing networks to create Wi-Fi hotspots, expand their networks without running new cable and allow wireless access to broadband IP services when you are away from home.
Also Motorola with the use of the BSR 64000 CMTS EDGE/router and a next generation modem, demonstrated its’ Channel Bonding Solution which will enable over 145Mbps of downstream.
