As expected the proposed Nokia and Sanyo jointly owned CDMA mobile device company is a no go. Both Nokia and Sanyo since the February 14, 2006 announcement have decided to pursue their CDMA handset business opportunities individually. To me this really was a no brainer for Nokia. Did they think CDMA was getting ready to explode in growth? Nokia says they plan to ramp down CDMA R&D and manufacturing by April 2007. That’s a total turn around.
