SMS alerts are coming from eBay. The company recently announced the service in which buyers can be notified via SMS message which auctions they are bidding on. Ebay plans on launcing alerts via phone call and instant messaging next month. Messages are sent when you are out bid and prior to the auction ending. What makes it sweet is that you can bid in your reply message. Cost is only .25 cents each auction you are participating. That 25 cents covers up to 10 alerts. Ebay also has wap.ebay.com where you can search and bid for FREE. The SMS charges will appear on your wireless bill.
