Nokia wants to make payments and the process simple for both operators and subscribers. With the launch of Nokia Unified Charging Suite 2.0 the company plans to do just that. Nokia expects a great majority of the next billion mobile phone subscriptions will be pre-paid and that poses a great threat to the revenue for operators and limits the options available to those users who don’t have the credit to get the goodies.

The new system will allow operator billing to react with up to the second accuracy to make sure they don’t mistakenly send products to people with no monthly bill and keep billing records and account information up to date, while at the same time allowing those users access to services normally only available on contracted accounts.

Sounds like a win-win situation to me. Press Release
