SmartphoneThoughts is reporting that Sling Media, the company behind the SlingBox and the SlingPlayer Mobile are releasing a Beta of the mobile version software for users of Windows Mobile smartphones. The Beta version of the SlingPlayer Mobile software works on smartphones with Wi-Fi or EV-DO.

Unfortunately due to a minimum bandwidth requirement of 120 Kbps users of the Cingular 2125 get no dice. Motorola Q, T-Mobile SDA and i-mate SP5m users on the other hand will have nothing to worry about as Sling Media has given those phones the green light. Remember, that it is in Beta so encountering a few bugs is a possibility.
