The FCC a favorite stomping ground for phonescoop turned up another great tidbit. It seems Samsung our favorite phone underdog is going to be entering the Smartphone arena with a Pocket PC phone, the Samsung i770 is a tri-band headset that catches signals from GSM 900/1800/1900. The phone according to records is equipped with EDGE and has Bluetooth as well.

What US mobile carrier do you think this handset will end up with? I’m thinkng because Verizon Wireless carried PDA styled Samsung i700 and the Samsung i730 previously Verizon will probably carry the Samsung i770 as well. From the pictures available it seems Samsung has completely abandoned the PDA styling of the earlier handsets.

Samsung still wants to keep a few secrets about the device (requesting confidentiality) for another 6 months to say the least so expect maybe a Thanksgiving / Christmas release after the hush hush period. FCC website
