Nokia has two US stores to open, one in Chi-town and another New York. Chicago launches on June 21, the New York store is expected to become a reality sometime before the end of 2006. Nokia stores will carry phones, accessories and other products not available directly through US carriers.
In addition to what you can’t puchase from carriers you’ll be able to purchase everything Nokia offers in North America. This marks a first for a phone manufacturer in the US as no other manufacturer has a store.
BigBerries expects if this is successful we may see other manufacturers follow suit. Not sure how carriers feel about this and I don’t think anybody has asked either.
