Selected by Portland, Metro-fi gets to add the City of Portland to its’ portfolio. Metro-Fi will provide free wireless internet access to the city and is expected save portland millions of dollars.
Portland’s residents and vistors will have wireless internet access with speeds of 1Mbps at no cost.
The free access provided by Metro-Fi will be ad-supported, to have access without advertisements, the cost is expected to be around $20.00 per month.
Similar to pc-bundles and free web access providers of long ago, banner and text advertisements will appear in your browser frame when using the free service.
Looks like I may never have free access to the web because I dreaded ads taking up my browser window.
