
Could a Treo with Fully-Integrated GPS Be on the Way?
Treonauts (love the name), went deep into the burrows CTIA Las Vegas 2006 and came up with some interesting speculations.
Nemerix, develops low-power, GPS solutions with small-footprints and extended battery life. the company is claiming a 70% reduction in power and chip size over the competition, which of course works out for smartphones.
Current GPS circuits (pictured) are half the size of US postage stamps next generation expects to get even smaller.
CTIA 2006

Phone Cancer
A recent health study, this time conducted in Sweden suggested a link between brain tumors and cell phones. It caused a stink, I’m sure not only with consumers but also with businesses.
The FDA has basically dismissed the recently conducted study, claiming it was not up to par with current methods used in science for conducting such research.
In particular, the Swedish scientists didn’t find it neccessary to kill use any animals in the study and also they felt that mailing surveys was just as good as having people come into a facility and fill out the same information.
To sum it up, the FDA was nice enough to simply say the Swedish study was “difficult to interpret” teleclick says the FDA has vowed to continue studying the effects of cell phone radiation.
