Good to see AOL moving with the times. It appears, according to MobileTracker that AOL has announced a new mobile browsing service.
What happens, is when you visit a site via mobile device, AOL serves the site according to specifications that make the site accessible via mobile phone.
This is similar to what Google and a few other sites are doing. Many publishers are up in arms about this technique, as it seems revenue generating ads are stripped from the content when the site is served to a mobile device.
I’m guessing something is going to give, as Google, who makes a heap of its revenues from ads is not going to want to stub its own toe for long.
