Last week Sling Media started a public beta for Slingbox owners. SlingPlayer Mobile downloadable from Sling Medias website will allow SlingBox owners the ability to watch media from any network enabled device powered by Windows Mobile.

The download is 8.5MB and will expire on April 26, 2006, when SlingPlayer Mobile v1.0 is released.

The mobile edition of the Sling Media technology is compatible with Windows Mobile 5.0 and 2003 Second Edition. A version for non-touchscreen devices should be released within a month.

Expect the retail edition of the software by the end of April be priced at about $29.99.
