There are a few reviews online about the E-Ten G500. Back when it was first announced I thought even without WiFi this phone has A solid foundation

Ok, I have to say something, I wasn’t but this issue keeps popping up. I’ve said this before I’ll say it again.

What’s up with all the 1.3 megapixel cameras on these phones?!

This phone by all the specs on paper is great; Bluetooth 2.0, Windows Mobile 5.0, 65k TFT-LCD screen with 240 x 320 resolution, web browser, media player that plays all the basic acceptable formats (AMR, AWB, MIDI, MMF, RMI, AAC, 3GP, AVI, WAV, MP3, WMA), but like so many others it come bundled with a 1.3 megapixel camera.

The E-TEN G500 a winning combination of style and technology

You mean to tell me costs are going to be bloated because of a measly .7 more pixels. That’s not much mind you, it’s just there has to be a bare minimum. Now granted, below the $200.00 dollar mark I can understand, maybe.

However, when you get to $400.00 and $500.00 dollar phones I’m expecting a little more mileage. I4U is saying they have it for close to $600.00, come on. Well I’m going to tell it, somebody has to.

Maybe e-Ten makes up with it by throwing in the GPS, which I must say is impressive, the RoyalTek GPS module featuring SIRF Star III gives you all the navigational ability you can fit right into the palm of your hand. The phone also has TMC support but that varies by region.(No US support)

The E-Ten G500 operates by way of a 400MHz Samsung S3C2440 processor with 128MB flash rom and 64MB SDRAM memory, expandable through the ever popular Mini-SD card slot. The G500 is a GSM quad-band mobile device which means is can function on the following (850/900/1800/1900 MHz)

Overall, the E-Ten G500 is a winner and even though the higher megapixels would be nice, this phone is geared more towards the demographic which probably would not be posting pictures of themselves hanging out eating pizza on Flickr.
