Well it’s been hyped and posted for a while. The day finally has arrived and first reports are saying that the Origami is just hype. Same tablet PC few new functions. I’ll reserve my opinion and just post the flicks.

Here’s a group shot of Origami devices from Asus, Samsung and Founder

There are quite a bit more photos on the second page. Plus you’ll catch a glimpse of what the UMPC’s will look like in the very near future!
here’s a shot of the OS…that’s right XP. Seems weird being that XP is getting ready to expire soon.

The Origami device pictured here has a stand which allows for desktop use or pictures.

The device from Samsung is quite attractive. Here’s another “Origami” photo.

Estimations of the price for the new device, which should begin selling within a month or so range from $600 to near $1000. Some people are still skeptics, however at the price point this device could proove to be an effective alternative to a “full-sized” laptop or the Apple Mac Mini.
Another thing we can stop calling them “Origami” now, that was just Microsoft’s marketing getting the job done right.
The terms to use for the devices from this day on are “Ultra Mobile PCs,” or “UMPCs.” Besides “Origami” as a name has too much to live up to, being that the devices don’t fold.

Why on earth isn’t the device above the one we’re getting? Now that’s sexy! Ok, the hype is over, I guess it’s time to get back to work.
