Sony Ericsson W900 docked on the MDS-70 Home Audio System

(BigBerries) It’s all about position, timing and key relationships. Even more than Motorola, Sony Ericsson (SE) is moving into music in a major way.

From the looks of it they are moving into position in every price point, which, as it seems an opportunity that few handset makers are taking.

Not only that, Sony Ericsson is giving each price point a piece of the action. Action, meaning features and Sony Ericsson is developing feature phones for every budget, so far both cameras and music.

Complete video can only be so far down the line. If one was to speculate I’d say SE has been watching what prompts consumers to buy and has been taking notes from both Motorola and Apple and advancing key concepts.

Cybershot and Walkman phones are killing it. (Translation – “killing it” means doing extremely well) Another thing SE is not stuck on form factor.

It seems some handset manufacturers get stuck either making nothing but flips or candy bars. Sony Ericsson is all over the place flips, candy bars and sliders.

Sony Ericsson is also releasing and announcing more phones faster than anybody.

However, that’s not the gut-wrencher for the iPod. Nope, that’s not the dagger in the heart. It’s the M2.

The Sony Memory Stick Micro, dubbed the M2, has the potential to allow Sony Ericsson to literally pillage the marketplace.

More memory storage means more music, more videos, just flat out more of whatever it is you want to store.

Let’s not forget the potential of product cross compatibility.

Now it’s all a speculation but, if SE can get their hands on qualified marketing, get successful and wanted products to market on time, it could be the stone to Apple’s Goliath.
